We are proud to announce the opening of our fifth franchise location: Techtron Environmental Solutions of St. Louis, owned and operated by Mike Renfroe. Every new franchise is a milestone for us, but this one carries a story that captures exactly why we built this company the way we did.
Mike did not find Techtron through a franchise expo or a brochure. He found us in the middle of a crisis.
A Hurricane, 850 Units, and a Client Out of Options
In 2022, Hurricane Ida tore through New Orleans and left one of Mike's clients facing a nightmare. A multifamily apartment complex with more than 850 occupied units had sustained water damage, and the textured ceilings tested positive for asbestos. To make matters worse, the client did not carry environmental insurance coverage and could not afford to move hundreds of residents into hotels while remediation dragged on.
Time and cost were working against everyone. Mike needed a better solution, and he needed it fast.
That search led him to Techtron.
The Mobile Lab That Changed Everything
What made the difference was Techtron's mobile laboratory. Our team analyzed bulk asbestos samples, performed asbestos air clearances, and completed mold clearances directly at the property, with immediate results. No shipping samples across the country. No waiting days for a lab report while residents sat in limbo.
That meant Mike's team could set containment, complete the abatement, and obtain clearances all in the same day. Residents returned to their homes as quickly as possible, and the disruption to their lives was kept to a minimum.
The results told the whole story. All 850 units were completed in just two months. The project finished under budget. The client saved significant time and money and avoided the enormous challenge of relocating hundreds of families.
From Client to Believer to Owner
That project turned Mike into a true believer in the Techtron approach. So when he learned we were launching franchise opportunities, he knew he wanted in.
Today, Mike is the proud owner of Techtron Environmental Solutions of St. Louis. Over the coming months, he will focus on growing our presence throughout the Greater St. Louis metro area while also working alongside our corporate team to help expand Techtron franchises across the country.
